Travel Planning – Where Dreaming & Scheming Come Together
Travel Planning – Choosing our trips We used to totally fly by the seat of our pants when travel planning but for the last year, we have been getting serious. Devouring every travel list article, you know the ones, “50 Places That Should Be on Your Bucket List”, “The 25 Most Beautiful Places in the USA”. We have created a comprehensive list of just over 200 incredible destinations that we are working through. We committed to locking in 2 international and 2 domestic trips per year. Then agreed to pick up other trips as opportunities present themselves. The dreaming and wishing and the “ooh, let’s go there” are part of…

Iceland Stopover – Highlights of Reykjavik
The last day of our Iceland Stopover was spent in Reykjavik, just wandering and enjoying this charming, vibrant city. If you haven’t yet, catch up with Iceland Stopover Day 1 and Day 2. We stayed at a cute little apartment AirBnB in Reykjavik with these amazingly cozy down comforters, perfect for your girl fighting the cold, and perfect for hitting downtown first thing in the morning for coffee. I had been eyeballing Café Babalu since our layover in Iceland on the way to England, and it did not disappoint. Very eclectic décor, amazing coffee, and a full menu for breakfast. But we took our lattes to go because we had…

Iceland Stopover – Day Trip to Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon
Iceland Stopover Day 2 – Exploring the southern coast of Iceland The drive along South Iceland has some big hitters as far as what you come to see on an Iceland Stopover. Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach, Geysir, and the black sand beaches and lots of waterfalls. A day of driving After an incredible Iceland Stopover Day 1, we begrudgingly left our wonderful Airbnb house early. So early that even the coffee shop wasn’t open. We anticipated a full day of driving with plans to get as far as Vik, hike some waterfalls along the way, see Geysir and then return to spend our last night in Reykjavik. The weather…

Iceland Stopover – Day trip to the Snaefellsnes Peninsula
One of the coolest perks of flying Icelandair to Europe is the Iceland Stopover When booking a trip to Europe on Icelandair, consider adding an Iceland stopover to either end of your vacation. This is really a great way to see this magical country. We decided to add 3 days to the end of our London trip. Sister side note (ssn) – talking about Icelandair, let me offer this little tip….if you are taking a red-eye into Reykjavik from the USA (heading East), make sure you get a window seat on the A side! It will be possible to see the Northern Lights from the plane just in case you…

Experience the NFL UK Invasion – Last Day in London
Where Prince Harry does not throw himself at me, but hey, Westminster didn’t collapse under the weight of our sins either, so it was a good day. After an amazing NFL UK Game Day, our last day in London features well-known attractions. We had priorities such as The Changing of the Guard, Westminster Abbey, Hyde Park, Millennium Bridge and an impromptu pub crawl. Even after a very late night at the NFL UK game, we were up and out early. We had moved out of the AirBnB and into a chain hotel for the sake of our mum (we are in England, we have a mum now). Mum needed a…

Experience the NFL UK Invasion – It’s Game Day
London Day Two – Where Patti discovers ancient torture methods, and Minds the Gap Sister side note (ssn) – and Where Peggy gets Pete Carroll’s attention Wake up! It’s Seahawks Game Day! If you haven’t read our Day 1 NFL UK experience, find it is here. We had to be out to Wembley Stadium by 4:00, and we had lots of exploring to do. We decided that we will take The Tube to the game, Pat reminds us (multiple times, haha) that we must Mind the Gap. An Early Start We headed out for our morning walk to our new favorite place on the planet, the Exmouth Coffee Company. More…

Experience the NFL UK Invasion – Day 1 Exploring London
This adventure started 10 months earlier. The Seattle Seahawks were selected to play an NFL UK game in London (that’s American football, y’all) on my husband’s birthday, which is coincidentally the day before Peggy’s birthday. We were sold on family trip – the sisters, my husband, and our mother. Sister side note (ssn) – I cannot emphasize how exciting this announcement was! For years I was so jealous of those teams that got selected for NFL UK (even though the teams don’t necessarily love it). But then suddenly it was us! There was no question we were going! We love our Seahawks AND we love to travel! Go Hawks! Mom…

A Perfect Portland Weekend – a Quick Guide
Portland is, without a doubt, my most favorite city in the whole country! This city is where my heart is happy and my soul is at peace. Portland is beautiful anytime, but positively spectacular on a sunny day! And we were lucky enough to have some of those magical, rare, sunny days last weekend when we met for a “working” weekend to kick off this Sisbehaving Blog. Getting to Portland For me, Portland is an easy flight from Denver; for Patti it is an easy 3.5 hour drive from Eastern Washington, how could we resist? So bright and early on Friday morning, I boarded the plane, settled into my upgraded…

From the Florida Keys to Everglades National Park
The final day of our too short sister trip, and it was not going to be a boring one. After an amazing Florida Keys and Dry Tortugas Adventure, we were up and out by 4:45 am with some super-secret stalking to do before leaving for the Everglades National Park. As we learned from the tasting room host at Pilar’s Distillery, sometimes Kenny Chesney sneaks into the Jimmy Buffet recording studio in Key West in the wee early hours of the morning to record on his off-tour time. He gets there early to get in and out without being seen. . . but we were there to foil that plan! Shrimpboat…

Florida Keys and Epic Dry Tortugas National Park Adventure
The morning was a little rough, I’m not going to lie about this. One eye, two eyes, then the “OMG, WHERE DID YOU GO LAST NIGHT” from Peggy. Sister side note (ssn) – I had a momentary panic that she hadn’t come back the night before and I failed to notice. Big sister badge has been taken away. Big Plans Today If you missed yesterday, find it here Florida Keys – Day 2. This was our Dry Tortugas (it means turtle, I learned that at the Turtle Rescue Hospital) National Park excurion. This was high on Peggy’s gotta see, gotta do list. It is in the top 5 of the…
