[…] Next Door is located inside a neighborhood restaurant in East Boston, their website doesn’t give it away, so we won’t either. Inside the restaurant, give the host your name and you will be directed to the hidden entrance through the back patio. Once the concealed door opens, you will have to give a password (provided by the host) through a speakeasy peep-window. It was very cute, the door was a little reminiscent of the confessional inside Oculto 477 in San Diego.
Your site is amazing! I love all the different places you've been... day drinking!! If you get back to Ghent, there are some beer bars (and vodka, etc) that you might be interested in... Het Waterhuis is across the canal to the south from the Castel Gravensteen... Also a small bar. There's Trapisten Huis that has a wide selection of Trappist and Abbey beers... and Dulle Griet.. Get the big beer that you have to surrender a shoe as collateral for the glassware. Extra bonus, get your pic taken by (or on) the cannon, named Dulle Griet.

I found your website when doing research for speakeasys in Paris and was thrilled to see you had one for Kansas City... being that I live in KC now... I agree that PS is comercialized but I was disappointed with your review... actually, with your experience... because you could have had a better one... Out on the street in front of the Phillips, there's a light that displays a revolving "PS" on the concrete sidewalk... to signal that PS is there... and yes, while you can take the elevator, if you go to front desk and ask for the PS, assuming you have a reservation, they will open a flat door behind the front desk that looks like the wall opens up. Yeah, PS is my least favorite in KC because it's essentially a semi-hidden hotel bar. The real KC speakeasy sceen died with Covid and alas, you missed Manifesto and a couple others. However, if you do make your way back to KC -- and yes, not a speakeasy -- but in the Majestic on Bradway, you can ask to be seated in the basement lounge, accessed by a discrete staircase, and normally there's a jazz band playing. It's easy to imagine the basement as the exclusive digs where KC mobsters rubbed elbows with city politicians.
