Virgin Hotels Dallas – For the Young (and hip) at Heart
Here is it, our first mini-blog dedicated to one and only subject. Virgin Hotels Dallas. We have heard so many amazing things about the Virgin Hotels and Virgin product line. But we have never flown Virgin Atlantic Airlines, or been on a Virgin Voyage (not yet, but we want to and plan to, so slip us a little discount there Virgin fam, we are dying to come check you out), we are new to the Virgin properties. And so far, Richard Branson has not invited us to stay on his private island. Virgin Virgins you might say. Sister Side Note (ssn) – Virgin properties have the reputation for being young…

Oh Hey Kihei – Our First Stop in Maui
Kihei, Maui from a non-Hawaii obsessed traveler. Maui was never ever on my bucket list. I know people live and die for their Hawaiian vacations, but for me it’s always been a meh, kind of destination. However, for our anniversary we scored a killer flight deal to Maui. Of course we jumped on it to find out what all the fuss was about. Bonus was that my niece and her husband were booked to be there during our stay. Thus turning it into a little mini-family getaway. And Peggy was coming along to help watch the grandbaby, so we were off. Pat and I decided if we were doing a “most…

Olympic National Park – Our Overdue Trip to the Rainforest
Peggy’s new grandbaby was born in Seattle in late October. While she was in town, we took this opportunity to finally check the Olympic National Park off our bucket list. It is downright embarrassing that we have lived in Washington State most of our lives (since we were 7 & 8 years old!) and have never been to the Olympic National Park (ONP). This shame has been rectified, and it was amazing. Located on the Olympic Peninsula in upper left Washington State, the gateway to the ONP is really Port Angeles. There are several lodges and resorts closer to the park as well as Airbnb rentals and camping. Sister Side…

Tri-Cities – Come for the Wine; Stay for the Sunshine
The time has come to share with you about our own hometown, the Tri-Cities, Washington. This is where Sisbehaving all began…. Tri-Cities are Richland, Pasco, and Kennewick, with a quiet nod to the outlying areas of West Richland and Benton City. The cities are located in Eastern Washington, the sunnier, arid side of the state. An easy 3.5 hours southeast of Seattle or 2 hours south of Spokane; where the Columbia River meets the Yakima and Snake Rivers. Kennewick and Richland sit adjacent to each other on the South shore of the Columbia River, and Pasco across the river to the North. With a combined population of over 300,00 it…

Tiki, Thai, Speakeasy and Sushi – One Evening In Seattle
One Night in Bangrak (Because I told her I was going to title it that) Update: since the original post, we have added to our Seattle list with another must-do tiki bar and a not quite nearby speakeasy…scroll to the bottom to read about them! After a trip to the coast, Peggy and I had the fun of staying one extra night in Seattle where we “accidently” discovered a couple of new-to-us businesses. If you saw our original day drinking in Seattle blog post, you know we had previously hit quite a few spots and had an amazing time, but we were going to try to outdo that? On this…

Explore Seattle Center and the City’s Quirkiest Neighborhoods
We love Seattle. There is so much to do and see. The city itself is beautiful. And when the sun comes out, it is hard to beat this place. First Stop – Brunch After our shenanigans the previous day (Day Drinking Seattle), we began our Saturday with brunch at Toulouse Petite Kitchen. I had seen it on Best Thing I Ever Ate on Food Network and wanted to go there ever since. Peggy made reservations, and I was super excited to soak up the previous night’s drinking with some creole brunch. We loved this brunch spot. The décor, the service, the food, it was amazing. Beignets, crab and asparagus scramble,…

Day Drinking – Downtown Seattle
Those of you that are familiar with us know, Day Drinking is customary day built into each trip to enjoy the local offerings. We haven’t been as good at blogging about them as we should. Hmmm….maybe a flawed plan? But check out our previous post in this category, Day Drinking – Boise. We experienced an epic day drinking afternoon in downtown Seattle. While a little limited by Covid shutdowns, our biggest challenge seemed to be the fact that bars didn’t update their Google information to show their true open hours. Now, as we move through this blog post with our recommendations and sharing our experience, please gloss over some areas…

Tulips, Whales And Bridges – An Epic Day in the Pacific Northwest
A few years ago, Peggy and I started our Big Travel List. A combination of “Bucket List Travel Destinations”, “50 Places to See Before you Die”, “Most Beautiful Places in America”, “Most Beautiful Places in the World”, etc. You get the picture. The list of “24 Breathtaking Places You Won’t Believe are in the US” led us to The Apostle Islands, Dry Tortugas National Park, Savannah, and quite a few others. But there was one right in our own backyard that we hadn’t done. In April, it was time for the once a year opportunity to see the Tulips of Skagit Valley. While it is never going to be the…

Our Complete Guide to an Unforgettable Weekend in Savannah
Sure, Savannah’s full of Southern Charm, just don’t look too closely in the windows I’m not sure what drew me to Savannah, but I know that when Peggy went on a girls’ trip to Savannah I was suddenly insanely jealous. Which is weird for me, because I have a slight aversion to Georgia. Patti’s Georgia dramatics Please, hear me out on this one, before I get bombarded with disparaging remarks from those over flowing with Georgia pride. My father’s family is from Southern Georgia. Growing up we vacationed there several times over the years to see the family. My Granny and Granddaddy were wonderful people, and I have such fond…

Isla Holbox – Sharing More Secrets With You
Flamingos, Beaches and Tacos! Another Day In Paradise If you didn’t read Part 1 about getting to Isla Holbox and our accommodations, you can do that here. The next day, back to Peggy’s hotel, Casa las Tortugas, for early morning coffee and pastries which is always the best little sister moment at the start of every day. It’s almost Dia de los Muertos, so we have to have the traditional bread, pan de muerto, which is fluffy and orange and melt in your mouth delicious and still warm from the bakery. We see ofrendas set up in all the businesses, and having watched Coco numerous times, we are enthralled with…
